Tip 31 – \”Inhibition\” and the Alexander Technique

To \”Inhibit\” in the Alexander Technique means, roughly, to do something as if you are not doing it. It is the first Alexander step for breaking habits.

To change a habitual way of doing something, Alexander suggests that first we refuse to do that thing. This stopping gives you a moment to think and try something new. If you can continue bending your knees far enough while thinking there is no chair, you will end up in the chair in a totally different way, and without every intending to sit.

  1. While walking in a crowd of people, we can notice, lot of people sees one another delusively and with mental confusion.
What they are noticing in others no idea?

But alexander pupil is clear, he only sees the whole crowd as a dynamic movement or sees each individual neck head movements, he may knows some thing about him and presents him self poisly.

  2. No other technique in the world, dared OR having guts to say to inhibit the stimulus with linking to skeletal, muscular systems of the antomical science except alexander technique which is the first and may be the last one.
