Tip 18 – Be Like Katharine Hepburn

Be like Katharine Hepburn.

Katharine Hepburn

The previous tip is about Isaiah Mustafa, the Old Spice guy. For this tip we have a young Katharine Hepburn. What is the same is their posture. Katharine’s torso is back and her head is rotated forward and up. Compare her posture to the analysis for Isaiah.

The same but different.  People often ask, “What do people who have taken Alexander lessons look like?” How about a little more like Katharine Hepburn? Not a guarantee, but certainly something everyone can work toward.

I have a lot of tips about the relationship between the head and neck because the Alexander Technique suggests that the quality of the head/neck relationship has an important influence on the movement and control of the whole the body.

What responds with breath at the abdomin?
    1. The upper abdomen
    2. The lower abdomen direction
    3. The sides of the abdomen directions
    4. The back of the abdomen(lower ,upper) direction

    One after the other all
together in sequence while all other directions are attracting towards alex direction creates the good sence, i think.

  11. Am i really nondoing back lenthening and widening, the BACK or TORSO is the biggest part in the primary control or primary movement, in the breathing reeducation world?

    Back is combination many sub-parts,
    1)front of the neck(flexors)-DIRECTION
    2)back of the neck(extensor)-DIRECTION
    3)shoulders direction(back extensor)
    4)thoratic curve(extensor)-DIRECTION
    5)lumbar curve(extensor)-DIRECTION
    6)floating ribs
    -DIRECTION
    7)chest ribcage(front of the torso flexors)-DIRECTION
    8)rectus -DIRECTION
    9)costal arch(flexors)-DIRECTION
    10)hips(pelvis)-DIRECTION
    11)sitting bones-DIRECTION
    12)hip joints
    -DIRECTION
    and lot more!
Any of the misdirection of unconscious bad habit direction, which i not recognized yet collapses our wish of back lengthening and widening and becomes DOING the remaining parts.

Which sub-part misdirection collapsing my wish?
