Tip 29 – Lying Down Exercise III

For a little rejuvenation, lie on a firm surface with a book under your head for 15 minutes. Allow yourself to settle. Allow your head to release from the top of your pointing spine.

This tip is an excerpt from the third page of the exercise in my manual. It might seem like the others, but it adds several important words. Combine it with Tip 28 (every day if you can) and you will be on your way to better organizing your body. The full instructions for this page are below.

Continuing to release your head from the top of your spine, gently point the top of your spine as if it were reaching past the back of your head.

When you are ready to stand up, do it slowly and easily. Be aware of your surroundings and leave the exercise until the next time.

    your tips are self exploratory.

    my thoughts on ” ONE AFTER THE OTHER ALL TOGETHER”.

    let the neck be free
    to let the head go forward and up

    ‘ i think in the above statement, alexander decided and stated a firm statement as,
    if the neck is not free, then the head not goes forward and up ‘

    for going the head forward and up, the neck must and should be free.

    if we are keeping the skull or head forward and up, by not keeping the neck free
    then the head is not in a posture and position of forward and up.

    if we are not keeping the neck free, but keeping the head forward and up then
    then the neck is not in a posture and position of free.

    the neck should be free, for keeping the skull or head forward and up.

    the false sensory of head forward and up, not makes the neck free.
    the false sensory of neck free, not makes the head forward and up.

    if we have false sensce at the atlanto joint, then the neck may not be free.

    if the neck is not free, then the head goes not forward and up then the skull not rotates on the top of the spine.

    for to rotate the skull on the top of the spine, the neck should be free then the head is said
    to be forward and up.

    if the neck is out of balance line of the body, then the head is out of balance line of the body.

    for example ,
    while seeing the feet with our eyes when you are in standing position,if we sensce the skull or
    head rotating on the top of the spine while still the cervical in a lengthened state then
    the head is moving down from forward and up position.

    ALL ARE MY PARADOXICAL IDEAS. PLEASE EXCUSE IF ANY FALSE IDEAS ARE THERE IN THE ABOVE STATEMENTS.

    please give me suggestions if the above ideas of mine are wrong.

    IS IT COMPULSARY TO SENSCE THE FREE MOVEMENT OF THE SKULL OR HEAD, ON THE TOP OF THE SPINE
    WHILE THE NECK IS FREE OR IN LENGTHENED STATE,
    WITH THE DYNAMIC DAILY ACTIVITIES ON A GENERAL BASIS PRACTICING PUPIL, FOR SATISFACTION OF THE SELF?
    ans : iam believing yes.

    what is the relationship between ATLANTO OCCIPITAL MUSCLES(suboccipital muscles) and neck muscles?
    ans: 1) if the suboccipital muscles tightens or with tension more or less, but normal.
    then the neck muscles tightens.

    2) if the neck muscles or with NOT normal tension and in a tension of more or less,
    then the suboccipital muscles tigtens and the head hardly rotates on the top of tge spine.

    the above is just my paradox belief.

    please give me suggestions in this regard.

    is the back of the neck muscles, have that much importance?
    why those back of the cervical neck muscles have that much significance in the dynamic stability of the organism of the human body? is it difficult to sensce the satisfaction with out the sensce of the back of the neck muscles?
    ans : i think and believing yes, the leland val thought of
    “”going the the top of the spine or cervical spine, to the back of the skull”’
    may activates that wonderful sensory for the dynamic activites for the good and satisfactory physcophysical self.

    suddenly i got one idea of seeing your picture or image on the top of this blog.

    I CAN ABLE TO POINT THE TOP OF THE SPINE OR CERVICAL SPINE TO THE BACK OF THE SKULL,

    SO IN THE SAME WHY,

    WHY CAN’T I POINT THE SPINE UP ( based on your statement, head releasing from pointing spine)

    I have to try this idea.

    i belive

    ”” the stimulus of doing the right thing or doing it correctly, is always far stronger than the stimulus of projecting the alexander 4 directions of good use.
    and the misdirected stimulus makes us exactly reverse of, what we are trying to employee the new reasoned out directions, for the satisfactory physcophysical self”

    please suggest me wether this statement is wrong or right.

    what i written above comments, came the thinking of

    thanks for giving this suggestion.

    i noticed when the cervical goes back of the skull,still the head going forward and up
    then the pelvis moves from the hips freely maintaining the sine in the natural lengthen state.
    the legs releases by releasing the knees automatically.

    i noticed the importance of leaning backwards for the better satisfaction of physcophysical self.
    i noticed in this case the chest raises.

    so, i remembered the alexander original statement of

    “” i have to put the head forward and up in such a way prevented the lifting of the chest
    simultaneously brought about widening of the back””

    the above direction helped me , good.

    iam hoping , i will get some more clues..

    thank you very much , for keeping my comments. iam just commenting so that i can think about
    the alexander technique on a general basis,for keep going on this technique. and iam not proud
    about doing or practicing the alexander technique.

    IS IT COMPULSARY TO CONTINUOUSLY THINK OF ALEXADNER DIRECTIONS OR REASONING PROCESS , IF WE ARE
    PRACTICING ON GENERAL BASIS?
    ANS : iam believing no need to think of to project by inhibiting instinctive stimulus, and projecting the directions.
    in emergency case it impossibel to think and projecting them. so, i believe no need to think and
    leave them for examples 1 hour or more.

    if we have a belief of thinking them for the full waking hours, and doing the full time right,
    then it may attracts to doing paradoxically.
    since,
    we are doing them on general basis whole life time, then i think belief of doing them right
    with out time gap in emergency case, and uncontrolled state is a delution on our parts.
    in this case also we get frustration and attracts the parts by doing the skull or head compressing the spine.

    REMEMBER THE SUPER DIRECTION OF

    ””””’ WILL TO DO””””””’ FOR PROJECTING THE 4 ALEX DIRECTIONS OF GOOD USE.

    SO, my conclusion is do it on a general basis.

    the above idea may be right or wrong paradoxically.
    this is just my paradox belief.

    please give me suggestions in this regard.

    your tips are self exploratory.

    what are my old false beliefs?and how i reasoned them?
    ans : 1) the forward and down of the head or skull has less importance than the head back and down.
    reasoned direction : the forward and down has exactly equal importance same as head back
    and down. in both the cases the skull or head compresses the spine.
    2) i can get the satisfactory of the body, by thinking of the directions, with out the forward and up of the head or skull
    reasoned direction : it is impossible with one direction to get a satisfactory result
    of the body with out the neck free head forward and up.
    3) the leg gives more satisfaction of the physcophysical compared to neck, since it is
    big in size and having lot of muscles.
    reasoned direction : dont estimate the neck or cervical spine which is small in mass or with less muscles. since, it is very near to the balance line of the body which is head forward
    and up.
    4) i have to achieve my end right?
    reasoned direction : this is utterly a myth. since, we are practicing on a general basis
    what is the need for doing the right thing.
    IS IT COMPULSARY TO PROJECT THE DIRECTIONS WITH SEQUENCE ONE AFTER THE OTHER?
    ans : yes, sequence of directions is very important, since alexander proved in his own case.

    WETHER I HAVE TO PRACTICE THE TECHNIQUE ON A GENERAL BASIS( IN MY DAILY ACTIVITIES) , OR
    SPECIFIC BASIS ( WITH TIME SLOT FOR PRACTICING)? AND HOW PRACTICING ON A GENERAL BASIS PREVENTS
    THE DOING OF THE MUSCLES?
    ans : alexander own case is proving the changing of a life time habit. he worked on general basis
    not for a specific time period for practicing.
    with out practicing the alexander technique on a specific time period practicing,
    we can prevent the doing, and separate the doing with nondoing.
    but, accepting working on a general basis idea is a big question?
    i have to work on a general basis, in the proper sequence of the directions which are linked with one another for satisfaction.
    and working on a specific basis, the startling reflexes, fears,delutions may be more, this
    just my belief wether it may be wrong or right.

    AND IAM NOT TEACHING TO THE PUBLIC, IAM JUST STATING MY THOUGHTS AND EXPERIENCES.

    what is the relationship between skull and cervical spine?
    ans : if the skull is not forward and up then the cervical spine compresses.
    if the cervical spine is not in a lengthened state, then the skull compresses the spine
    or the skull goes back and down.

    your tip 29 is self exploratory.

    at the first day of the beggining the alexander technique practice, the theoritical knowledge
    i had was ” the skull or head rotates on the top of the spine”.

    yesterday i found that , i have theoritcal knowledge of the location of the atlanto.
    but while practically thinking ,iam not actually thinking the atlanto joint in that place, iam thinking in the neck.
    and hips also beside the pelvis .

    what your told tip 29, thinking of the top of the spine going back of the skull,
    the same idea i got in the morning while waiting for your newsletter.

    YES, WHAT YOU WERE TOLD IS THE RIGHT THING,
    THE NATURAL TENDENCY OF THE CERVICAL SPINE IS EXACTLY REVERSE TO THE FORWARD AND UP.

    IF I THINK THE TOP OF THE SPINE GOING BACK OF THE SKULL, WHILE STILL THE SKULL OR HEAD GOING UP
    THEN IT IS GOOD FOR ME.

    i will practice this and i will post my experiences.
