For improved posture, point your spine like pointing your finger.

The idea of pointing your spine goes back to Tip 4, but it actually doesn’t work so well by itself.  Pointing your spine is not tightening your neck or lifting your ribs.

  1. While standing sitting bending point your spine

    or

    With stimulus of sit,stand,walk,bend think of neck going back head going forward and up and back(torso) going back and up and knees going away from hips(torso) and base of the feet into the ground and shoulders going out to the side and arms lengthening ,’one after the other all together’ , DAILY.

  2. You are in a chair in sitting position on sitting bones.
    1)You kept the head forward and up direction.
    2)you kept the back(torso) back and up direction,and away from the hip joints.

    Do you think you kept those directions going?
    I think you are holding the directions?
    Am i?

    Keep the head further forward and up direction, and the back further back and up direction…..

    notice how the tone increased at the back(torso).

    Am i correct? Is this the primary control?

  3. iam surprised the directions the teachers are using. normally every body
    uses the direction of ::::

    “”””BACK LENGTHEN AND WIDEN “””

    but in a lecture F.M.Alexander told the below statement from his mouth::

    so, the torso always goes back and the head goes forward and up and knees goes forward
    while the hips going back.
    ————————————————————————-

    in the above statement he is clearly specifying the word ‘TORSO’.

    so, i think better to use the word TORSO, in the regular directions. since, the BACK means a pupil may use and think the back muscles, and forget the front muscles.
    if we use the word TORSO, then the torso includes the back,ribcage,pelvis,stomach,sitting bones the whole spine including neck.

    so , i think the TORSO word makes the scence in projecting the directions.this is just my opinion.

  4. so, i understood once again i failed completely, by my overconfidence of my body parts and with my forgetfullness and with my lazy ness.

  5. My Dear Alexander soul,

    why why iam forgetting the back of the neck again and again,
    and trying to do other directions?

    Iam not able to understand you satisfactorily, but i will keep trying your concepts .
    Some thing i have to do with my body, i wont left it alone. I will play with it.

    If i left or forget my body, it will create nonsence for me.

    Thinking of alex directions atleast some what better for me compared to,

    not thinking at all,
    thinking useless things.
    Iam believing iam not wasting time by thinking alex directions.

    A paradox story@

    Suppose a person is practicing the alexander for reducing the protruding stomach for the past 2 years.

    In a group of 100 people he shows the ugly stomach protrution to the people,
    then he will make the MAGIC, by thinkining alex directions of good use and he makes the stomach and whole body slim and poised.

    The other people surprises seeing his stomach, which is a pemanent life long slim and poise.

    If i keep the neck or cervical spine as far as possible back , while keeping the head forward and up lengthening thoratic curve while maintaining pubis symphosys length while watching the sacrum spine dance, shoulder blades WHILE LEANING FORWARD OR BACKWARD WITH SIT WHAT Happens?
