  1. excellent ~ Thank You Leland as always ~ I felt like underlining how this posture-fix also fixes our breathing. It’s such a clear way to illustrate how proper body usage brings us overall health

  2. Breathing alexander technique jargons?
    1. Some body says contract the ribs at the out breath
    2. And another says there is nothing to do actively with the breath.
    3. Another says think of breath as ocean weaves.
    4. Another explains DO with the out breath
    5. Another explains breathing exercises.

    one word i wrongly written.
    The right sentence is

    ‘ think of f.m alexander given a (lengthened) human spine to you. And asked to LENGTHEN that spine’ .

  4. What is ‘lengthening’ ?
    Ans@ is a special word in the alexander technique jargon.

    Think of suppose f.m.alexander given a human spine to you.
    And he asked you to shorten that spine.

    What you will do?
    There is nothing to do.
    Since,
    it is already lengthened . And the preventive thing is not shorten that spine to lengthen that.

    The full confusion is , if i not shorten that spine i cant do some special activities like bend ,twisting the body etc.

    May be this true. But i think alexander intention is preventing that spine not to stay in that shortened state so much time which causes the spine to damage , and his intension is the widening supports the lengthening of the spine and viceversa.

    So, the lengthening is ‘not doing any thing’,
    and ‘not shortening’ .

    So, i think alex technique is NON doing technique.

  5. Hi leland yours explanation is,
    good simple explanation of shoulder directions which is a ‘partial direction’ with in the f.m ‘whole direction’ with stimulus.

    I think at the back 95 percent of the muscles are connected to the shoulder blade,clavicles.

    A whole widening of the back(torso) depends on the shoulder blades(shoulders)

    what is the normal tension of the shoulder blades(shoulders)?
    Ans@ sit stand bend stimulus daily activities of the shoulder widening not disturbs the length of the spine.

    What is normal tension of arms?
    Ans@ the use of arms tension in daily activities not disturbs the widening of the shoulder blades(shoulders) means, the arms are indirectly not disturbing the spine length.

    What is lengthening tension of the back?
    Ans@ the tension of the back lengthening which not disturbs the widening of the shoulder blades(shoulders) is the normal tension of the lengthening of the back.

    All the above are PARTIAL DIRECTIONS with the alex neck head back limbs directions.

  6. The unconscious movement of shoulder blades towards the ears,
    makes stooping the chest OR makes the chest out, and making the chest with more or less tension.

  8. Shoulder blades,clavicles are parts of the torso, in the back lengthening to widen process.

    The bad habits of shoulders are.
    1. Hunching (the length between shoulder blades is more or not satisfactory)

    2. Pulling the shoulders back( the length between shoulder blades less or not satisfactory)

    i think the above unconscious bad habitual activites creates more or less tension and it is not a satisfactory tension.

    In one of the alexander photo i noticed the alexander hand is preventing the shoulder blade by keeping the hand on the shoulder blade.

    So, i assumed this scenario.

    if some body like me follows your tips with confidence,
    iam sure they will get good sensory one day.

    What are the alexander reasoning processes?
    Ans: nothing but the 4 directions. Those are
    let the neck be free
    to let the head go forward and up
    to let the back lengthen and widen
    to let the legs release away from torso
    to let the shoulders release out to the side.

    Note:
    if we try to do them or
    relate them to the end of the activity,
    example : sitting activity.

    then it is utterly waste of our time and energy , practicing the alexander technique.we are never get the end satisfactorily
    if we try to do it
    or relate the end.

    Just project the reasoning processes or means where by.
    In the activity by inhibiting instinct stimulus.

    to day , i got one good concept of,

    BACK OF THE TORSO ONLY NOT NARROWS, BUT FRONT OF THE TORSO ALSO NARROWS BY THE SHOULDERS.

    your tips are good.

    why it is compulsary to think of more than one direction
    in alexander technique?

    with out the head neck which is the first direction in the alexander technique.
    with out this first direction there is impossible for release of other directions.

    combination of directions:
    ————————–
    1-2 or
    1-3 or
    1-4 or
    1-2-3 or
    1-2-3-4 or
    1-3-4 or
    1-4-3 or
    1-4-3 etc.

    please note that first direction is in every combination of directions.

    SO,
    WE SHOULD BE MORE THAN ONE DIRECTION AT ANY GIVEN POINT OF TIME. (is better to progress forward in alexander technique)

    you are really created a base and platform for alexander technique.

    But,
    even though iam doing this technique,
    one never ending question, still disturbing my mind. That is,

    where to start the alexander technique?

    Ans: for the back to allow to lengthen and widen, i should keep the head forward and up,
    by stopping instinct stimulus and start the reasoning direction of head neck in the activity.

    How alexander technique helps 100 percent in prevention of hyperventilation, which is the cause of many disceases?

    Ans:
    alexander technique main aim is prevention of head which compresses the spine.

    If the head not compresses the spine, then the back muscles
    leg,hands muscles will be at the nutral and natural tension.

    Then these muscles sends the signals to the breathing centre in the brain for exact, required oxygen volume for the dynamic works of the body.

    So,
    then we will be allowed to breath required volume of air.

    So,
    unbalanced tension of muscles creates hyperventilation.
    And
    alexander technique prevents the unbalanced muscle tension
    ,which improves breath.

    your statement is another good tip of raising consciousness.
    By seeing your vedio, i found,

    when the shoulders are pulled back or when the shoulder blade pulled towards ears,

    the chest raises which narrows the back then
    the neck shortens then
    the skull compresses the spine.

    And

    when the chest raised then the shoulders are pulled back then
    the back narrows then
    the head compresses the spine,
    which disturbs the primary control of human organism
    .
    compressing the legs,hands and whole body.
