Looking up? Don’t pull down.
Looking up is generally painless, so long as you don’t “pull down” in order to look up. The video demonstrates looking up with less neck tension.

sir,
your tips are educational and self exploratory.
IS IT COMPULSARY TO GET THE STIMULUS FOR NON DOING OF BAD HABIT?
WHAT IS THE CLEAR DIVIDING LINE BETWEEN DOING AND NONDOING? HOW WE CAN SEPERATE THEM?
ans:
1) yes, it is compulsary and cardinal to get stimulus for nondoing of bad habit.
2) with out stimulus , i believe we cant sepearate doing with the nondoing.
3) with out the experience of a stimulus in the dynamic daily activities, we may revert to doing
and old habit dominates the reasoning directions which we are trying to employee for the
satisfactory physcophysical process.
4) the exact dividing line between doing and nondoing , based on my belief is
:::::: the experience of getting the stimulus, when we inhibit the wrong direction and employee the new reasoning direction, and projecting them.
EXAMPLE:
———
iam taking the SITTING,AND STANDING activities, as specific for my testing purpose.
daily i may sit 20 and stand 20 times.
FIRST I HAVE TO REMEMBER THE “””will to do”””” ,
every time while sitting i have to project the reasoning processes or alexander 4 good directions,
and i have to think them every time while doing this specific activity, by projecting the directions “”one after the other all to gether””.
later i can expand this specific experience , to my daily activities.
“”” WITH OUT STIMULUS IT IS DIFFICULT, TO SEPARATE DOING AND NONDOING”””
THANK YOU.
sir,
your tips are good for raising the consciousness.
HOW WE CAN PROVE THAT HEAD OR SKULL COMPRESSING THE SPINE AND THE TOTAL BODY?
ans: the skull is the first part of the body at the top of the spine.
if the skull is not moving at the balance point of the line in the dynamic daily activities
it is the first part pulled by the earth’s gravitational force. then it compresses the spine
if it at the position of not in balance line in the dynamic daily activities.
THE SKULL COMPRESSES THE PELVIS( IF IT IS NOT IN THE BALANCE LINE OF THE BODY)
BUT THE PELVIS NOT COMPRESSES THE SKULL( IF IT IS IN THE BALANCE LINE OF THE BODY).
THE PELVIS COMPRESSES THE LEGS (IF IT IS NOT IN THE BALANCE LINE OF THE BODY)
BUT THE LEGS NOT COMPRESSES THE PELVIS(IF IT IS IN THE BALANCE LINE OF THE BODY).)
sir, please suggest me the above idea is correct or wrong.
thank you.
SIR,
sorry i forgot to add the frontalis muscles with skull goes up with the crown.
my paradox idea is:::::::::::::::
crown of the skull,
the top of the head both goes simultaneously oneafter the other UP.
AND
the chin goes forward means not jutting down. this is forward.
this is my paradox idea of forward and up.
please give suggestions about this comment.
wehter iam wrong or right?
thank you.
sir,
your tips are good.
we will continue this endless journey , practicing paradox and holistic technique which drills the human evaluation. but this paradoxical technique is the complete and real technique.
WHILE SEEING THE RAIN,
1)THE SKULL CROWN GOES UP ( UP)
2)THE CHIN NOT JUTS. AND COMES PARALLEL TO THE GROUND (FORWARD)
the above two things works parallely , simultaneously one after the other.
I THINK THIS IS FORWARD AND UP.
HOPE THIS IDEA OR THOUGHT HELPS ME.
THANK YOU.
sir,
i want to tell you one story.
One woman told me, i have to consult neck specialist.
Since,
she told while turning the head
she is listening the crackling sounds in her neck with pain.
I suggest her , dont turn the head with crackling sound.
Or
gently turn the head , so that you cant listen the crackling sound.
But,
she is not understanding my words, still turning her head with crack sound .
Finally, she decided to consult neck specialist for the specific cure but not general cure for the total body.
Iam sorry to say,
she is non other than my mother.
Thank you.
sir,
this is better tip.
here i noticed ::::::
when we are looking up:
1) if the skull not rotates on the top of the spine, then the back pulls to down.
2)if the cervical spine compressed then the skull not rotates on the top of the spine and also the back pulls down.
3)if the back pulls down then the skull not rotates on the top of the spine
4)if the thoratic curve compresses , then the cervical spine compresses and the skull not rotates on the top of the spine.
5)if the skull not rotates forward and up on the top of the spine, then
the cervical curve shortens
and the thoratic curve shortens.
6)if the skull not rotates on the top of the spine then the jaw pulls the skull down
7)if the skull not rotates on the top of the spine, then the shoulders are pulled back compressing the thoratic spine, cervical spine.
8)if the skull not rotates on the top of the spine, then the thoratic curve compresses, which
decreases the distance or length between
sternum and thoratic spine, then the thoratic capacity decreases which reduces normal breathing.
9)if the skull not rotates on the top of the spine forward and up, then the thoratic cavity volume decreases, then the shoulders are pulled back .
10) if the thoratic cavity volume decreases then the skull not rotates on the top of the spine and cervical curve compresses and the shoulder are pulled back and the chest raises.
11) if the skull or head not rotates on the top of the spine, lot more happens
thank you.
Leland,
Can’t tell you how much I value your weekly, mini Alexander Technique lesson. It is such a good way to begin a new week. Thanks for doing this.
Where I live there is no AT teacher, so I read your book and others about AT, and every once in a while I drive 200 miles to the nearest teacher for a lesson. In the meantime, you keep me thinking about the subject on a regular basis.
Thank you,
Georgia
