Avoid using your hands to get into, or out of, a chair.

People often ask, “is it bad to use your hands to stand up or sit down?” In general, the answer is yes. The clear and forthright act of standing up is an expression of humanity that is available to you every time you do it. Lions roar. Zebras have stripes. We stand on two legs, not four.

Try it.  Extend your legs to the floor and go up.  Avoid struggling and don’t use your hands.  Don\’t you feel more like a human being? The ability to rise from a chair is an important skill and a definition of mobility.  And the more you do it without using your hands, the easier it will become.

  1. Based on f.m.alexander ‘use and functioning ‘ principles, the below paradox statements we can make.

    1. Those who dont know what is ‘good use’ , consciously and unconsciously they get chronic diseases.
    2. Those who has ‘chronic disease’ which was born by the ‘ unconscious bad use’ , and
    if they learn ‘f.m conscious Good use’ then the chronic disease cures.
    3. The unconscious use is untrustworthy.
    It may be good or bad use and no data .
    4. The f.m conscious use is trustworthy.
    5. The healthy person dont know how he is healthy ,
    if he is not using f.m.alexander principles OR dont have knowledge about alexander technique.
    6. If the chronic disease person wont believe the feeling, and if he believes the f.m right posture and direction and feeling, his body one day transforms towards that direction.
    7. We have to accept the unconscious good or bad decisions of other people, even though we are under F.M Conscious level.
    (wanting to be wrong!)
    8. If we learn the f.m. Directions,
    we almost understood the 650 crores people use in the world.

    What are others, am i correct?

  2. those who love f.m.alexander, they love the alexander technique.
    those who try to transform the alexander technique they wont love f.m.alexander.
    f.m.alexander paradoxically failed to explain the sensation of his technique. but he succeeded explaining his technique.
    iam paradoxically believing alexander technique.
    are you?
    whether for studying alexander technique the student should be patient , then only he paradoxically understand the alexander technique?
    f.m told a change in the body part a change in the whole self. and for every body this is a new experience.
    for even a healthy sure person also this is new experience, so, i think
    there is no difference between a patient and a healthy human?

  3. the head forward and up OR prevention of head back and down, direction with daily stimulus activities,
    nutralizes the extensor, flexor muscles relationship of the torso.

  4. Your son asked to show the MOON at 8 pm.
    You took him to the out side garden area of your house,
    while showing the MOON to your son ,
    with your right arm pointing towards the moon think of @
    1. The fingers(tips) releasing away from the palm.
    2. Continuing the 1st, think of the palm releasing away from wrist
    3. Continuing 1st,2nd think of the wrist releasing away from the elbow.
    4. Continuing 1,2,3 think of the the elbow releasing away from the clavical shoulder meeting place
    5. 1,2,3,4 and shoulder,clavicle releasing from the back.

    While the head,neck,torso,legs going towards alex directions.

    One after the other alltogether may be with in a fraction of second.
